I have wonderful news!!! My show, Sally Spectre, the Musical - A Children's Horror Story for Adults, written by David P. Johnson, has won the first round of the semi-finals of the Eclectic Company Theatre's Hurricane Season One-Act Playwriting Competition! We are the first piece to go through to the finals and couldn't be more excited!
The finals are again determined by ballot and, based on the audience votes, we could WIN!! But the competition is going to be tough, and we are going to need all the fans we can get! I truly hope that you will come see and vote for this touching and very funny musical.
An extra special thank you to MU's Jason, Katy and Matt for coming to see the show during BOTH the opening weekend and the semi-finals! Your encouragement and support of fellow artists is incredible! I think it was also perfectly fitting that you three were standing there with me when the annoucement was made that we'd made it to the finals.
Everyone who came to the preliminaries, I can't thank you enough for your support. We would not be in this wonderful position if it weren't for EACH of you! And if you are able, I hope you will come see the show again...I know that's a tall order, but we believe that Sally can go all the way with your help!
After many months of hard work, Jedediah Jones and Ryan DeRamos are in the final stages of the sound design. I was extraordinarily pleased with the first draft and after making just a few key notes, the guys are polishing the music and sound for what seems to be only a two draft process!
