If I had to choose one strange orchestral piece in the film as my favorite, it would be this song. It's a bit disappointing that only a few bars in the middle are used in the film. At the risk of being "that guy" who pats himself on the back for producing a song, let me break down the song to its parts:
1. It begins with something that personally gives me the "We're not in Kansas anymore" feeling - a piano, tubular bells, and dissonant strings finding harmony at the end of the intro.
2. There's an orchestral calm before the storm.
3. It builds to a slightly off-key "Robert" interpolation.
4. It climaxes into a tribal/choral chant: "This home you were saving" are repeated a few times, in reference to a deleted concept from the director. Jason wanted to burn down a cabin and film it. Unfortunately, we lacked the time to do such a feat. This same choir is reused near the beginning of the track "Élan Vital."
5. It descends into an orchestral/synthetic reprise of "The Drone."
