Ryan DeRamos was born on a Friday. He is left-handed. He was born and raised in Southern California, but that's where the ominous signs of impending doom end.
Originally (and concurrently) a musician, DeRamos fell enchanted with the art form of filmmaking during his rather unorthodox education at California State University, Los Angeles. It was there DeRamos met fellow Mutiny Universe co-founders John Tan, Katy Savage, and longtime collaborator Jason Loya, who acted in several of DeRamos' student films.
DeRamos' 2005 short "In the House of Pacificus" (starring Loya) gained acclaim from director/master class instructor Howard Ritter (Night Court; One on One). The University's film festival also recognized DeRamos' 2003 short screenplay "Leaving." DeRamos is an idealistic elitist, and he dreams of the day when everyone is as idealistic as he is, so he can quit being that way.
